Which wine to go with my Foie Gras?

Foie Gras goes wonderfully well with:


Mellow white wines, like the wines of Alsace

  • Gewurztraminer, the famous wine from the hillsides of Alsace, adds an anthology of fruit, flower and spice flavors to your Foie Gras. It is an excellent companion which will delight by its delicate flavor.
  • an Alsace Pinot Noir, a little tannic with fruity tones.
  • A Pinot Gris, a robust wine, round and long in the mouth, whose aromas go very well with your Foie Gras.

Pudding wines such as Sauternes, Monbazillac, Jurançon or Vouvray…


Top red wines
(Bordeaux or Burgundy) will also elevate the flavor of the foie gras by bringing an unexpected aromatic tone to the taste.

  • A red wine such as a Medoc, a Madiran or a Cahors will also go very well with an Alsace Foie Gras

On the other hand, avoid wines which are too light or too young.

For a grand finale of flavors, dare to use Champagne!
